To make sure you get a full dose of Christmas Spirit this December, Maize Manor UMC has planned some new and exciting ways for us to celebrate the holiday together…even though we will be physically apart.
The Maize Manor Advent Guide and Christmas Countdown Calendar have simple daily activities we can all do in our homes as Christmas approaches.
Packets are available to pick up outside the sanctuary doors on the north side of the church building.
You can also follow along below or download the printer-friendly PDFs:
1st Sunday of Advent
Materials: 5 candles (3 purple, 1 pink, 1 white), plate, wreath/garland
Instructions: Place candles on the plate. One candle in the center and the other four in a square around the middle one. Place the wreath/garland around the outside of the candles. Follow the 2020 Advent Guide.
Start an Advent Calendar Chain
Materials: 6 sheets of construction paper (red and green suggested), stapler or clear tape, pen
Instructions: Cut the construction paper into strips roughly the same size. Label each strip with numbers 1-25 (for Dec. 1-25). Each day, write something positive on the strip for that day (ideas: favorite things about Christmas; a compliment for a member of the family; things you’re thankful for; ways God has blessed you; etc). Make each strip into a circle, linking it to the circles already made in order to form a chain.

Maize Manor UMC is collecting new hats, gloves, and scarves to give out to the community at our Christmas Maize Manor Market. Donations may be dropped off at the Preschool Entrance, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday through December 11th.
