Watch Your Mouth

When I was a kid, I remember people being told to “watch your mouth” when they said things
that were inappropriate…especially in church. Now that I am older, I think people should
perhaps be more careful what they say about church. You see, I have met a lot of people who
are fast to talk about Jesus but slow to follow him. This has led to folks being suspicious of
hypocrisy anytime someone talks about Christ. At the same time, I have also met people who
don’t say much about their faith but are quite faithful in their actions. So, this September, we are
going to reflect on hypocrisy, evangelism and true religion while we read the letter of James,
which encourages you to follow Christ with actions more than words…and to Watch Your
Mouth.
