In the spring of 2023, my wife and I visited Northern California to learn how climate change is
making wildfires more common and more severe. We listened to people who shared stories
about the devastation caused by fires, and talked to folks who volunteered their time to help
clean up some of the neighborhoods around California that have been affected. We also met
with leaders on the ground who are using green space, green agriculture and green energy to
reduce fire risk to build a brighter future. This August, I will share some of their stories, and we
will ask the question: What does it mean to love your neighbor when the effects of climate
change are Spreading Like Wildfire?
